Alex is one of the more prominent neuroscientists in the world, so it’s not surprising that his books are so highly regarded. The first, Sleep and Memory, is a bestseller. He has written six books since then, and one of them, the new book, The Science of Sleep, is scheduled to be published in March.
While Alex has a bit of a reputation for weird sleep studies, one of his latest books, The Science of Dreaming, includes lots of fascinating information about the brain. This is because some people sleep through dreams and wake up in a different time zone. Alex and his team use brainwave recordings to discover what timezone a person is in as well as what time they had a dream. Then, they compare recordings of the brainwaves of other awake people.
As a result of this research, Alex has created a set of guidelines to help people who suffer from dream-waking confusion. These guidelines are designed to help people determine when they are dreaming, to help them learn to control their dreams and to help people learn about the different parts of their brain that are responsible for dreaming. One of the first things you’ll discover about Alex is that he’s a bit of a geek. He has a Ph.D. in experimental physics and a degree in neuroscience from Princeton University. He’s also a self-described “nerd who likes to solve problems,” who’s currently working on a book about the brain.
It seems like he’s a bit of a nerd. I thought his Ph.D. was in experimental physics, but it turns out it was in neuroscience. I imagine that he had to get the Ph.D. in neuroscience, and that the title of his thesis is in neuroscience. He seems to have some sort of brain injury, or something, that makes him a bit of a nerd, but I can’t say I have a problem with this.
One of my favorite self-awareness books is ‘The Artist’s Way’ by Alex Michaelides. It focuses on the three basic states of being a human being — being awake, being asleep, and being dreaming. Michaelides talks about how he keeps these states of being in mind all the time.
While the brain is constantly on autopilot, our brains aren’t exactly the most organized of computers. Our brains are always processing. That’s why we have dreams, for instance. Michaelides talks about how when he wakes up from a dream, his brain is still processing, but he knows that it was the dream that woke him up. So now he’s able to make sense of the dream and is able to figure out what happened.
