In the end, every book is the same. It is a collection of ideas that we use and apply in our lives. We all tend to know at least one book that we use daily, and we might use other books as well, but the only thing that makes these books unique are their authors.
In the past couple of years, there has been a lot of attention paid to the idea of books that are useful for people who don’t have access to the internet. Some of these books are well-regarded by the general public, and are often downloaded by people without internet access, but the fact is that these books are not used by many people.
Here in the States, this has been a trend that has been seen since the advent of the internet. With the rise in popularity of the internet, more and more books have become available online in digital formats, and the internet is used in general to access these books. In fact, the rise of the internet has led to a decline in the number of books printed, the number of books sold, and the overall number of books published.
The decline in the number of books printed from the rise of e-books on shelves to the rise of the internet has impacted the way people are able to access books. People used to be able to access a lot of books in physical format, but now the only way to get a book is to buy it. And those books are only available because they are printed on paper. So, the number of books published has decreased.
The decline in the number of books published is something that we can all agree on. We can’t agree on what the cause of the decline is though. A lot of reasons could be attributed to the rise of printing on demand instead of the traditional printing process. Some of the biggest culprits include the rise of Kindle and the rise of e-readers.
That’s right, e-readers. We’re seeing more and more people getting e-books via these devices.
But the biggest cause for the decrease in books is the rise in the number of people who own e-readers and the rise of Kindle books. This is because Kindle books are mostly cheaper than print books and the e-book market has exploded to the point where e-books are becoming more expensive than print books. Because of this rise in e-book prices, Amazon has started requiring authors to pay a 15% royalty fee on every single e-book sold.
I guess you could argue that the rise in e-book prices has forced readers to pay a penny to read a book, but the truth is that the author is still going to make a penny for every penny he/she sells. I don’t think that authors should have to pay a penny for a book, so long as it’s the best one they can possibly make.
I guess that’s the beauty of e-books. You don’t have to be a billionaire to make a buck selling e-books. But the problem with e-book sales is that they are still a small pie in the e-book world. When we compare the growth in e-book sales to the growth of print sales, it’s almost impossible to tell if the e-book books are worth the same as the print books.
Publishers still complain about the same thing, that e-books are too expensive. But I think that publishers have finally realised that they can’t really compete with the Kindle. The best part of Kindle, is that you can start reading at home, and then read on the go. That makes it really convenient for people who are on the go. Also e-book sales don’t really compare to print sales.
