Bob Proctor is one of the most well-known and respected authors on personal development and personal growth.
Bob Proctor’s books have been around for decades, and now includes the incredibly popular The Power of Now. I personally own a copy, and I’m thrilled to have it in my collection.
In the Power of Now, Proctor discusses many ways you can apply his principles of positive thinking to your life. For me, one of the most important principles I’ve learned is to “Trust Yourself First.” I have heard this principle preached many times by others, but to me the most important aspect is that it’s about being confident in your own abilities and your own decisions.
This is a philosophy that applies to even things that seem unrelated to our lives. For example, I know of many people who go to yoga classes because they think it will help them become more flexible or calm down. I have a lot of friends who are afraid that if they do something they think is wrong it will be taken as a sign of weakness or worse, that they are going to be laughed at.
However, I believe the key to this philosophy is to not be afraid to make your own mistakes. When you do something wrong, you can look at it and say, “Did I make a mistake?” If you did, then you should be confident that you did the right thing. That’s the key to being confident in your own abilities, and also in your decisions.
Bob Proctor makes a great point in his book Writing and the Arts of Manipulation. He says that you can be confident in your own abilities, but confident in what you are doing. If you have a big idea that you are about to attempt, but you are unsure of the execution, you can say, “I think I need to do this.” That will let you know you can go ahead and try it.
This is the exact same thing, actually. If you are unsure of your ideas or are unsure of what you are doing, you need to let people know that you are really doing it. This is why it’s so important to have a manager, someone who can walk you through what you are about to do, and then tell you to go do it. If you don’t get the feedback you need, then you can always just go ahead and try it.
If you are going to attempt this, then you must have someone who can talk you through it, and who will be there with you throughout.
Bob Proctor has been a great manager for us. For example, when we were first starting out, every time we went on a shopping spree, Bob would stop us and tell us to be careful because some of the items we were buying were dangerous. He basically had us over the course of a few weeks, and when we got to our destination he would say, “You know what? Let’s just not do that this time.
