By The last week of July 2015 I was reading The Two-Headed Girl by Mary Gaitskill. I was struck by the idea of a world where two people had two heads (the girl living in the head of the world and the boy in the head of the other world), yet the girl’s head was separated from her body. The end of the book was extremely depressing and I wanted to continue reading it.
In my opinion, Gaitskill’s book is one of those books that you wish you had the opportunity to read as a child. The way she writes is so unique, and that alone makes it amazing. I think I would have loved to have read it as a kid.
