You wouldn’t want to go home until you’ve made it to your bed and that’s it. You wouldn’t want to go to sleep until your body is still warm. So accepting death is actually quite normal.
This is also normal because you need to learn to adjust to the new way of life. For example, if you die in your sleep, you are not going to wake up any quicker than if you had been dead for a decade. And if you die in your dreams, you are not going to wake up any quicker than if you had been dead for a year.
