Well this is very much a work in progress. We have a great deal of work to do in order to make mobile technology as good and as useful as the desktop computers we use today. We are using the best parts of cell phones to do some amazing things, but we still have a long way to go before we are fully confident in our ability to use mobile devices effectively.

While this study is still a little too anecdotal for being scientific, it is interesting to see a correlation between the average age of smartphone users and their level of ADHD. I think that this is a good idea to keep in mind for anyone who might be thinking about using a smartphone.

This isn’t to say that all smartphones are bad or that ADHD should be a disease. People who have ADHD can do many things that don’t involve phones, like video chat and the Internet, but they can also take a lot of time outside of the Internet (like playing video games) and can be easily distracted. The good news is that there are many different apps to help people with ADHD. The bad news is that it’s still a pretty rare disorder.

Yes, smartphones are really great, but at the same time there is a significant risk of people with Attention Deficit Disorder being distracted by everything from Facebook to talking to their phone.
