In it, Herriot talks about overcoming our fear of death and how to deal with it by focusing on the self-awareness that we already possess.

The Three Levels of Self-Awareness by James Herriot is a book about overcoming fear and having awareness of your surroundings, in the case of this book it is about the Three Levels of Self-Awareness. The book has been described as more of a self-help book as opposed to a science-fiction book.
The book is split into 3 parts. In part 1 we get to know the first of the 3 “levels” (the first “level” in the book is a “level” that is much harder to describe than the other two). We start by learning about how to become aware of our own thoughts and then how to recognize our own “inner chatter”. At the end of the first level, we learn how to tell when we are being watched by ourselves.
Self-awareness is a part of this process. We can see our thoughts and emotions, but we cannot really control them so we have to learn to recognize them. The book suggests that the first step in self-awareness is to know your “I”. This is hard because we are all in constant self-talk, and we all do it differently.
To be more specific, self-awareness is a very subtle, non-obvious process. Like the process of self-discovery, it is something that you need to master in order to be able to handle your own thoughts and emotions. It is something that requires time, practice, and an attitude.
I think we can all agree that self-awareness is a very hard concept. I know, because I am a very small person. I just need to say, though, that I am not talking about recognizing one’s own thoughts. I am talking about recognizing those thoughts that other people have, and when we are in a moment of awareness we can’t help but recognize the fact that we’re doing it.
James Herriot wrote a lot of books. I am going to list just a few of the books that I own.
I do think that James Herriot has a long way to go before he can be considered a “self-aware” person. He is quite clearly the kind of person who takes his own actions very seriously without too much concern for others. I think that if he were to be considered a “self-aware” person, then he would need to be the type of person who cares more about his actions than he does about others.
Of course, that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t care about his actions, but he would probably make an effort to do them in a different way. So instead of writing books about self-awareness, I think he would write books about why he does what he does.
