The first level—the level of self-awareness that we all have, and all of our most ingrained habits are—is of course the level of awareness of our own habits. For example, if you are walking down the street and you see someone walking towards you, you might think, “Oh, he’s just trying to get out of the way.
But, you are aware of your body and your surroundings. You will know when you are about to strike a person, but you will not be able to react. The reason this is so important is because it is the first time that you will be able to control your own response. You may think, Oh, the person is going to get away, but you will not be able to turn around and run away.
You will only be able to react to your environment when it changes, and your environment only changes when you are not looking at it. This is where self-awareness comes in. You’ll be able to see a tree, but if you are not looking at your feet you won’t know it is a tree. You will only be able to react to your surroundings when you are aware of the environment.
At the point where you are aware of your surroundings, the world is a little more concrete. You are able to react to your surroundings.
This is the point where self-awareness really kicks in. At this point you are able to see the environment around you, and then you can react accordingly. You will be able to see what people will do, and then you will be able to react accordingly.

Then there are the “dangerous” ways, like jumping off walls and cliffs. Then there are the “somewhat dangerous” ways, like hiding and sneaking around. And finally there is the “very dangerous” ways, like jumping from heights and then falling to your death if you fail.
