I know it sounds silly but people often say it’s all a hoax, but it’s very real. There are very few photos of famous photographers that are actually taken by them. I will never forget the time I saw some friends at the beach in Malibu and saw a young photographer taking a picture of a young model. The model had a hat on, which was an indication that the photographer knew he needed to take a picture of the model with no hat on.
In a studio, the photographer would be in front of a camera, and if everything went well, the model would appear in the photo. These photos would be taken during the period when people were on vacation. However, if the photographer was not happy with the shot, he could take it out. The model would then have to go back to the beach, and the photographer will then take a new shot.
The beauty of shoot-or-takes is that the photographer can take it out whenever he wants, as long as he gives the model a chance to go back to the beach. That means that the photographer can take a lot of different photos during the same day, which can work against the photographer if the model leaves the beach or doesn’t return by the end of the day.
