By There are a lot of places to go and things to do when you have a cat. There are also a lot of places you can’t go that you can’t imagine doing. I like to think of it as a three-part process. The pet ashes are used the first step of that process.
The first step is to dump them into a large bowl and make sure to pour water over them to wash off any residual traces of cat urine. This step can also be done in an alley where you dump the ashes out into the sewer.
The last step in the process is to bury the ashes.
I find it interesting that cats are a good way to dispose of cat waste, as they do not have the proper digestive system. In the same way as I can’t imagine doing laundry by hand, I can’t imagine having a cat do it either.
I have a hard time imagining any other way to dispose of ashes, just as I am not the best person to dispose of dog hair, so it is a safe bet that I will avoid the use of cat ashes.
I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time imagining any other way to dispose of dog hair either. Maybe we could dump them in the sewer? So long as I have no other way of getting rid of them, I’ll be happy. I will, however, find something I like better though.
The idea of using your pet’s ashes for something is not new, but this one is cool because it takes the ashes of your pet and turns them into something. The question is what. The ashes of your pet are basically just skin, so if we want to make something with them then we need to look for a way to get it to sit. I guess it’s not really a great use of the ashes, but I wouldn’t go crazy about killing it either.
In The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, the film director and screenwriter (respectively) Jim Jarmusch and the writer/director of the excellent Dogma trilogy, Alfonso Cuarón, explain what they did with their pet ashes. They used some of their pet ashes to make a candle, which burns with a flame that is itself an image of their pet. The ashes were then used to make a statue of their pet that could be seen from afar.
The film director says that he and the writer were both so busy that they couldn’t think of the best way to use their pet ashes, and I suspect that this is true. They each had other things on their minds, and these other things might not have been as good. I think the best use of the ashes would be to make a piece of jewelry that can be worn by a person, and then use the ashes to create an image of the owner’s pet.
There are many ways to do this, but the best one is to use them as a part of an amulet. A modern-day “wand of the future” that can be worn in times of danger.
