I am currently working on the second to last step of my self-awareness. I have had a hard time using all four of my sentences so far but I am getting there. Each time I finish the last step I feel better about myself and my life.
There are two ways to get better at this. One is to actually write more. Writing more is one of the best ways to self-awareness because it forces you to think about and verbalize your thoughts about your life. When you write out a list of goals for the future, you’re forcing yourself to think about how you want to live your life.
Writing more does two things. It forces you to take control of your life by thinking about it, and it forces you to think about things that make you uncomfortable or difficult, which means you will write about them more. It also forces you to write about things that you don’t want to write about (because they can’t be written about). It has also forced me to write about things that I don’t want to write about, because writing about them makes me uncomfortable.
I do not know about you, but when I write, I tend to fill in the blank. When I sit down to write, I often do a quick search of the online dictionary to see if I can find an adjective that describes the experience I am writing about. If I can find one that fits, I will use that adjective. In this instance I found that I need to write about how I want to live my life.
I know that not everyone thinks this way, but I actually use four or more complete sentences in my writing. I use these sentences to describe things in my life that I can describe, but can’t necessarily explain; things that people might not see. So for example, I can write about walking a nice dog. I can write about being in love, but at the same time I can write about how I am going to live my life.
Okay, so four or more complete sentences is when you can write a sentence that tells a story that is at the same time self-contained and self-referential. In this case, I can write a story about how I want to live my life, but also about how I want to be a writer. So in this case I can write about how I want to write a story that will tell a story.
That is the concept of a story. So if you think that it is too much to write a story that is self-contained and self-referential, think about how you would write a story about yourself. Maybe you would write a story about whether you are a lover or a friend. Maybe you would write a story about whether you are going to be a successful writer. But you would probably write a story about yourself in that way.
A more self-focused story would be the story of whether you would be a good, successful writer or not. A story about how you would write a story about yourself. A story about how you would write a story about yourself. A story about how you will write a story about yourself.
You could write a self-focused story too, but there are a lot of potential pitfalls here. There’s no guarantee that even if you chose a self-focused story that you will actually use it. For one, you could choose a story about your past, which doesn’t help you to achieve any self-aware goals. A story about a past is just a story about you.
But even if you choose a story about you, it will probably be self-focused as well. It will probably be your story about your past. The only way to get really self-aware of it would be to write a story that is self-aware. But that’s not what we’re doing here. We’re simply telling you how you would write a story about yourself. How you will write a story about yourself.
